On March 8, 2025, a day of global significance as International Women’s Day, the Emmanuel Osemota Foundation created another memorable and transformative experience by hosting its Women Empowerment Program in Okpagha Community. This event underscored our steadfast commitment to empowering women, fostering economic independence, and nurturing a spirit of resilience within the community. It was a day filled with inspiration, practical knowledge, and meaningful support for the women of Okpagha. Below is a detailed overview of the journey leading to this impactful event and the highlights of the day itself.

PRE-EVENT

The Emmanuel Osemota Foundation’s Logistics Team visited the Palace of the Community Head in Okpagha, located in Uhunmwode LGA, to formally discuss the upcoming empowerment initiative. The community leadership warmly welcomed our team, expressing profound appreciation for the Foundation’s continuous efforts in uplifting women and supporting sustainable development within local communities.

With meticulous planning, the logistics team ensured every essential component was in place—securing the venue, setting up chairs, tents, and a public address system, and preparing medical supplies for distribution. Publicity materials were strategically placed to raise awareness about the event, ensuring maximum participation. This detailed preparation underscored our unwavering dedication to delivering well-structured and impactful programs.

THE EVENT

The team arrived early at the venue to oversee the final arrangements and welcome the participants. A total of twenty-two women, along with their children, gathered eagerly, ready to gain knowledge and resources that would help them build better futures for themselves and their families.

Dr. Onovae set the tone for the event with an engaging and enlightening session on women’s health. She emphasized critical areas of maternal well-being, preventive healthcare, and lifestyle choices that contribute to long-term wellness. Following this, she delivered an insightful lecture on entrepreneurship, equipping the women with practical strategies to start and scale their businesses.

A highly interactive Q&A session followed, where the participants asked compelling questions about health, business growth, and financial management. Dr. Onovae addressed their concerns with expertise and encouragement, ensuring that each woman left with the knowledge and confidence to take the next step toward financial independence.

In a truly transformative moment, the Emmanuel Osemota Foundation awarded business grants to twenty-two women, empowering them to launch and expand their entrepreneurial endeavors.
