On July 20, 2024, the Emmanuel Osemota Foundation created a memorable and impactful experience for the women of Okhuoromi Community by hosting its Women Empowerment Program at the Okhuoromi Community Town Hall. This event marked a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to uplift and empower women, fostering a sense of unity, strength, and opportunity within the community. We will take a brief look at the rundown of all the activities leading to the event and the activities during the event.

PRE-EVENT

The Emmanuel Osemota Foundation’s Logistics team recently visited the Palace of the Community Head in Okhuoromi, Oredo LGA, to discuss the upcoming event’s objectives. The community leaders warmly welcomed our initiative, expressing their gratitude for the Foundation’s ongoing efforts and previous outreach activities that have positively impacted their community.

The logistics team meticulously arranged all essential elements for the event, including chairs, tents, a public address system, and medications. They ensured every item and publicity material provided by the Foundation was effectively utilized and appropriately positioned to guarantee a successful event. This thorough preparation underscores our commitment to delivering meaningful and well-organized community outreach programs.

THE EVENT

The team arrived early at the venue to ensure everything was set up smoothly. Eighteen women, accompanied by their children, attended the event, eager to learn and engage.

Dr. Oghenekaro Onoriose kicked off the session with an insightful talk on women’s health, highlighting essential aspects to keep in mind. Following this, she delivered a fundamental lecture on entrepreneurship, providing practical advice and inspiring the participants to consider new business ventures and paths to financial independence.

During the interactive Q&A session, the women posed thoughtful questions, seeking clarity and guidance. Dr. Onoriose addressed each query with expertise and encouragement, preparing the attendees to confidently expand their businesses and achieve financial autonomy.

Following the enlightening lecture on women’s health and entrepreneurship by Dr. Onoriose, the Emmanuel Osemota Foundation took a transformative step by awarding grants to ten women in the community. These grants will empower them to launch and expand their businesses, fostering economic growth and independence.
