It was a special experience for the women of Iyowa community as Emmanuel Osemota Foundation hosted its Woman Empowerment Program. This event took place on April 2nd, 2022 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am at the Iyowa Community Town Hall. We will take a brief look at the rundown of all the activities leading to the event and the activities during the event.

PRE-EVENT

The Emmanuel Osemota foundation Logistics team visited the Palace of the Okiaghele of the Iyowa Community in Ovia North-East LGA to inform the leadership of the goal of the event. The response from the leadership of the community was favorable and they expressed their gratitude for all the outreaches done so far in their community.

The logistics team ensured all the necessary things needed for the event were properly put in place from the chairs, tents, public address system, and medications. The logistics team received all the items/publicity materials from the Foundation and ensured they were properly utilized before the event.

The team arrived early enough at the venue to set up. Immediately set up was complete, the women were seated down, twenty one of them in total with their children.

The event commenced properly with entrepreneurship lecture. Mr. Elvis Ariavie had a brief lecture on entrepreneurship; encouraging the women in the community to be business-oriented so they can support themselves and their families. Also, he asked mind-stimulating questions that would help the women of Iyowa engage better in their businesses.

After the  lecture on entrepreneurship, Dr. Peace Ariavie took advantage of the little time allocated to her to discuss health-related issues affecting women in society at large.
