PRE-EVENT

The Emmanuel Osemota foundation Logistics team visited the Administration of the Egor Community Secondary School outreach. The response from the Principal of the school was beyond positive as they have never gotten such offer prior to this visit.

The logistics team discussed the best available date for the event to take place. We also discussed the number of female students we wanted and the classes they were to be picked from. The logistics team received all the items/publicity materials from the Foundation and ensured they were all in good conditions before the event.

THE EVENT

The team arrived early enough at the venue to setup. A projector and sound system were provided for ease of communication to the students. Immediately setup was complete, the students were seated down, Three hundred and ten (310) of them (240 of them from senior secondary school, while 70 of them from junior secondary school). The students were given face mask in accordance to COVID-19 rules.

The event commenced properly with a symposium on human trafficking handled by Dr. Peace Ariavie. She employed the use of a PowerPoint presentation and videos to enlighten the children. She also gave deep insights on menstrual health education and Abstinence. The students really enjoyed the lessons and some of them asked questions in areas where they needed clarification.

Dr. Karo Onoriose utilized the platform to talk about Sanitary Pad Use and Hygiene. She used practical examples to illustrate to the students how to properly use the sanitary pad and dispose of them. Thereafter, we had a comprehensive question and answer session where the students asked questions in areas where they did not fully understand.

We went further to organize the quiz competition for the students. Thought-provoking questions on Human trafficking and Girls Health were asked and the fastest students to provide the answers qualified for the quiz. A total of six different students qualified to compete for the prizes:

Omobude Daniella Osasogie

Omajimite Eunice

Osagie Osasere

Ojikeme Chioma

Omo Anita

Osenghabon Osamudiamen

At the end of the quiz competition, Ojikeme Chioma finished as the 2nd runner-up and was gifted a brand-new Tecno Pop 4 phone. Osenghabon Osamudiamen finished as the 1st runner-up and was gifted a brand-new Samsung tablet. Omajimite Eunice finished in 1st position and received a brand-new Avita Laptop from Emmanuel Osemota Foundation.

To mark the end of the event, all attendees of the event were given different gifts which included bags, branded notebooks and pens. As the students left the venue of the event, they were all given sanitary pads each as a contribution to their menstrual health.
