The principal of the school was pleased with the idea of the Girl Child Initiative being organized in her tenure as principal.

The logistics team discussed the best available date for the event to take place. We also discussed the number of female students and the classes of focus. The logistics team received all the items/publicity materials from the Foundation and ensured they were all in good conditions before the event.

THE EVENT

The team arrived early enough at the venue to setup. A projector and sound system were provided for ease of communication to the students. Immediately setup was complete, the students were seated down, Three hundred and three (303) of them. The students were given face mask in accordance to COVID-19 rules.

The event commenced properly with a symposium on human trafficking handled by Dr. Peace Ariavie. She employed the use of a PowerPoint presentation and videos to enlighten the children. She also gave deep insights on menstrual health education and Abstinence. The students really enjoyed the lessons and some of them asked questions in areas where they needed clarification.

Dr. Peace Ariavie also utilized the platform to talk about Sanitary Pad Use and Hygiene. She used practical examples to illustrate to the students how to properly use the sanitary pad and dispose of them. Thereafter, we had a comprehensive question and answer session where the students asked questions in areas where they did not fully understand.

We went further to organize the quiz competition for the students. Thought-provoking questions on Human trafficking and Girls Health were asked and the fastest students to provide the answers qualified for the quiz. A total of six different students qualified to compete for the prizes:
