PRE-EVENT

The Logistics team from the Emmanuel Osemota Foundation recently connected with the Edo State Ministry of Education as part of their secondary school outreach initiative. The Ministry expressed strong support for the program and selected Eyaen Secondary School in Uhunmwode Local Government Area as the venue. During the visit, the team received a warm welcome from the principal, who embraced the initiative with great enthusiasm.

The discussions focused on scheduling the event, including setting the date, deciding on the number of female students to involve, and identifying the specific classes to target. The Logistics team also took care to inspect and prepare all the resources and publicity materials provided by the Foundation, ensuring everything was in excellent condition for the event.

THE EVENT

The team arrived at the venue bright and early to set everything up. As the preparations wrapped up, over 250 eager senior secondary school students filled the seats, ready for an exciting day of learning.

The event began with an engaging lecture on Menstrual Hygiene by Dr. Karo Onoriose. Her interactive approach sparked a lively discussion, with students asking plenty of questions, all thoughtfully addressed by Dr. Onoriose. She also took the time to demonstrate the proper use of sanitary pads, making the session both informative and practical.

Dr. Onoriose then transitioned to a powerful presentation on Substance Abuse and Human Trafficking. Using slides and videos to share real-life experiences, she aimed to raise awareness and educate the young audience in a meaningful way.

The Emmanuel Osemota Foundation organized a quiz competition, rewarding the top contestants with gift prizes.

To conclude the event, every attendee received various gifts, including branded notebooks and sanitary pads, aimed at supporting their menstrual health. The students were thrilled to participate in the girl child initiative.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to the Edo State Ministry of Education for their approval, and to the principal of Eyaen Secondary School for their invaluable support. We extend our sincere appreciation to the students and teachers, whose enthusiasm and dedication were key to the event’s success.

Above all, we are especially thankful to our donors, whose generosity made this initiative possible. Your support truly made a difference, and we couldn’t have achieved this without you.
