It was an unforgettable experience for the College of Medicine at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo-State, Nigeria as the Emmanuel Osemota Foundation gladly held its annual Dr. S.U. Osemota Achievers’ Awards: Stethoscope Award Presentation at the College of Medicine. This event took place on Wednesday 29th November, 2022, from 12 pm – 2 pm.
THE EVENT
The Dr. S.U. Osemota Achievers’ Awards presented stethoscopes to the best students in the just released Part 1 MBBS examination for the 2020/2021 session.
The Provost, College of Medicine, Prof. G.B.S. Iyalomhe, lead staff of the college and the ten beneficiaries to the award ceremony, held on Wednesday 29th November, 2022 at the Vice Chancellor’s conference room. He informed the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. A. S. Adagbonyin, that he was also standing in for the Foundation.
He gave a narration of who the man, Dr Samuel Uwa Osemota is and in whose honor, he was representing the family. He stated clearly that this award was not the first in the institution, it is the second and promised that the foundation would continue to do more for the purpose of encouraging teaching and learning and hard work in the University.






He thereafter presented the ten (10) Stethoscope provided by the foundation to the Acting Vice Chancellor for onward presentation to the beneficiaries.
In his response, the Acting Vice Chancellor, who was ably represented by the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin), Prof. Theophilus Agweda, appreciated the Foundation on behalf of the University Management, staff, and students of the institution, he appreciated the Emmanuel Osemota Foundation for promoting academic excellence through the provision of the ten (10) Stethoscope. He expressed joy and happiness of the Acting Vice Chancellor over the donation and sued for it’s sustenance.
Highpoint of the event was the Presentation of the ten (10) Stethoscope to the best ten students who just finished their Part 1 MBBS Examination for the 2020/2021 academic session. The event was witnessed by the Ag Registrar, Deans, HODs and staff from the College of Medicine. The ceremony witnessed the presentation of the Stethoscope to the best students in order of merit, one after the other.
